The PPMA Total Show comes around every three years, so it’s a hugely important event for users and suppliers of processing and packaging machinery. It’s a professionally organised showcase for exhibitors to display their latest technology and services, and for everyone working in the sector to network and find opportunities for developing their businesses.

Register now for PPMA Total Show 2019, NEC Birmingham, 1-3 October. See the programme for this year’s event here.

Here’s our brief guide to making the most of your visit:

Sustainability, Brexit, Plastics – don’t miss these SEMINARs

This year’s Keynote Addresses are relevant to everyone actively involved in our sector, each one giving an informed view on the hottest topics of this year, and most likely for years to come.

Joanna Yarrow, Head of Sustainable and Healthy Living at Ikea, will share insights into an accessible, attractive and affordable approach to environmentally and individually responsible lifestyles. The scope and vision of her work will provide inspiration for better ways of living and doing business. Time: 11.05am, Tuesday 1 October.

Peter Conradi, Europe Editor of The Sunday Times, will look ahead to the realities of Britain’s future political and business relationships across the Channel. Based in Paris with extensive experience across Europe and Russia, Peter’s perspective will be hugely valuable to everyone with business relationships in the EU and beyond. Time: 1pm, Wednesday 2 October.

Barry Turner, Director of Plastics & Flexible Packaging at British Plastics Federation, will be taking a close look at the challenges facing the use of plastics. With a firm commitment to the circular economy, the future of plastics in sustainable packaging is moving forward at pace, with technological developments aiding re-usability. Day three of the show will be dedicated to addressing the challenge of the skills gap facing the sector. The sessions will be hosted by the PPMA’s BEST (Business, Education, Skills and Training) initiative, established to introduce students to potential career opportunities in processing equipment, packaging machinery and automation.

Every session will leave attendees better informed about key issues in processing and packaging, and will provide inspiration for developing your business in readiness for a future rich in possibilities.

Make a list of the products and suppliers you want to see

Most visitors to the PPMA Total Show are focussed on specific areas of interest. To help plan your visit you can search exhibiting companies and products on show. As you walk around you’ll see plenty of working displays which may attract your attention, too.

If you would like advice about which businesses to talk to on particular topics, make your way to the Enterprise Zone and the Find the Experts booth. We’ll direct to you an expert for impartial and relevant advice.

Network in the Enterprise Zone

The opportunity to network with industry peers is a major benefit of attending PPMA Total Show. The Enterprise Zone hosts the Keynote Addresses and seminars, and also provides dedicated meeting zones where you can meet up with show attendees and exhibitors. We also organise activities to facilitate visitors connecting and engaging with each other.
