Longstanding exhibitor Fortress Technology continues to innovate for PPMA Show visitors
Fortress Technology has had a close association with the PPMA Group and has been exhibiting at the PPMA show for almost as long as the company has been in the UK. “That’s 20 years,” says Phil Brown, Managing Director of Fortress Technology Europe.
As a leader in the design and build of customised industrial metal detection systems, Fortress Technology has built a reputation for its superior product design and engineering with its solutions renowned for their outstanding reliability and performance. Today, the company has manufacturing sites in the UK, Canada and Brazil serving its worldwide distributor network and customer base.
What gives the PPMA Show the edge for Fortress Technology and has ensured its presence as an exhibitor for so many years is the show’s ability to attract a high calibre of visitor. Typically, those attending the PPMA Show come with a purpose to discover the new processing technologies and packaging machinery that will help to deliver greater production efficiencies and add value to their business operations.
“It’s a show that we look forward to every year as visitors are genuinely interested in the equipment that is on display,” enthuses Phil Brown. “Not only that, they are either key decision makers or influencers in the buying process.” This level of highly engaged visitor with a real motivation for investment in the latest production-enhancing solutions is one of the main reasons which has kept Fortress Technology exhibiting at the PPMA Show for nearly two decades.
“The PPMA Show is really the only sizeable and recognisable show in the UK specialising in processing equipment and packaging machinery, and year after year, it provides us with a great opportunity to demonstrate the latest developments in our product range. In fact, most years, the show proves to be very successful, and results in a number of new sales and future opportunities.”
Equally, it’s also the level of advanced technologies and real-time demonstrations of innovative solutions that keeps the visitors coming to the show. Upholding the PPMA Show’s tradition of innovation and discovery, Fortress Technology will this year unveil its latest hygienic Inspection pipeline – the Pipeline Ultra+ metal detector – designed to tackle the spread of bacteria and cross-contamination for liquid food lines.
“We are continually developing and upgrading our metal detection systems, and as in previous years, we see the PPMA Show as the perfect platform to showcase our latest innovation to the exact audience we want to reach.”
For Phil Brown, while the show is predominantly about keeping Fortress Technology’s profile fresh in people’s minds and creating business opportunities, he also recognises the importance of the event for staying in touch on a more personal level. “It’s always a great opportunity to re-connect with existing customers, meet new prospects and network with fellow peers to keep up to date with industry developments and reinforce the message that we are still here!”
Brown is mindful of the many changes that have faced the industry over the past years, and has been impressed by the way the PPMA Show has adapted and moved with the times. “When you look at the world today, everything is now at our fingertips. This is of course a natural progression of the way we now operate with the advent of the internet, which was barely in existence when we first began exhibiting. While this has resulted in a reduction in square footage and audience numbers, the quality of visitors to the PPMA Show has significantly improved. Those that attend today are proactive, engaged and genuinely interested in purchasing.”
